Castle

A fantasy castle constructed from PlayMais on a card base.

Specify the design criteria: e.g. Build a castle with an arched entrance, crenellated walls and a circular tower.

                  Cubes and cuboids

                      Make nets, or squares and rectangles, from KraftIT. Score edges to be folded.

                      Moisten edges to be joined and stick together to make cubes or cuboids.

                      Make your own dice for board games. KraftIt can be marked with felt pen.

Farm

Make a farmhouse scene: grass, tractor, animals, farmer and house

can all be built from PlayMais. KraftIT could be used for roofing and fences.

Specify the design criteria: e.g. Build a sheep farm with a farmhouse, farmer, fields and sheep.

House

Walls, roof and tree made from PlayMais.

Specify the design criteria: e.g. Build a house with one door, 2 windows and a steep roof.

House and roof cut from KraftIT. Door cut round on 2 sides and folded on 3rd so it opens.

Good exercise in accurate measuring and cutting.

Investigate the strengthening power of triangles

 Use strips of KraftIT of equal depth to make a box frame. Strengthen the corners with right-     

 angled triangles cut from KraftIT or triangular wedge-shaped pieces cut from PlayMais.

Steam Train

Make a model steam train from PlayMais. KraftIT could also be used to make the carriage sides.

Specify the design criteria: e.g. Design and build a steam train with an engine and two carriages.

                     Make Mitred Corners

Glue the picture to be framed to a piece of card, leaving a card border all the

way round.  This border should be the width that you cut the KraftIT strips.

Cut KraftIT strips the full length or width of the picture.

  Overlap the edges and cut diagonally through both strips.               

  Stick the strips onto the card, matching the cut edges.                                        Finished Picture
